§0. Introduction to Slytherins Wake

§1. The Utilities

FOR 2018-2019 AP COMPUTER SCIENCE STUDENTS AT VCHS (14 Jan 2019, revised 15 Jan 2019)

1. This is the take-home portion of your final exam for the first semester.
2. Do the exercises in §0.3.E: 1–6 and §1.1: 1–10.
3. Email an electronic copy of your answers to Mr. Spurgeon’s vcstudent email account and submit a hard copy of your answers to the exercises. Submit the hard copy at the place and time you are scheduled to take the proctored portion of the final exam.
4. Up to 4 points of extra credit (out of a possible 100 points) will be awarded if you develop an interesting program of your own design using Slytherins Wake. To receive extra credit, email the source code for your program to Mr. Spurgeon’s vcstudent email account; also submit a hard copy of your source code when you submit your answers to the exercises. Only submit code that you wrote. Do not email or submit hard copies of the Slytherins Wake program itself. Print and submit a snapshot of your snakes in action.
5. Do your own work. Do not share your answers with other students. Cite your sources and acknowledge any help you receive; you’ll sleep better at night if you do.
